COLOMBIAN MINING CONFERENCE 2012
On July 17th, 18th & 19th 2012 at the Irotama Resort Golf Marinal, will take place the IX version of International Mining Congress “Colombian Mining Conference”. The event brings together about 300 people involve in the mining industry; concerning coal, gold, copper, stone aggregates, cement and other minerals in which Colombia is highly competitive to meet international demand.
Santa Marta is mainly associated with the port management of coal. In addition to the port society, the area has terminals from Ecopetrol-Pozos Colorados, Prodeco, Drummond River (Vale) and Puerto Nuevo, reason why this city as the venue for the event, which will include topics such as new port developments for mining in Colombia, infrastructure against NAFTA, has chosen the analysis of the environmental impact to the growth of the national economy through mining and the new code of mines, among others.
The port of Santa Marta, over the past five years, have been conducting important works of infrastructure with a view to face the free trade agreement between Colombia and United States. The 768 Act of 2002 ("law of districts"), formed at Santa Marta as port authority. This city's port is considered to be of great importance for the country, thanks to its geographical location and its natural depth that benefits the course and the approaches of the ships, as well as being the deepest port in the Americas and one of the safest in the world.
Americas Coal Conference
On June 3rd, 4th & 5th 2012, will take place Americas Coal Conference at the Westin Diplomat Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, FL – USA. The event will feature renowned international speakers specialized on Port Infrastructure, International Corridors, Environmental Sustainability on Coal Production, New Technologies & Processes to Optimize Production, Alternatives to Generate Energy, Coal as Energy for the Future & Possibilities and Strategies to Ensure the Supply of Coal on Markets with High Demand, among others.
Colombian Coal Conference
On February 15th, 16th and 17th, 2012 was the XIV Colombian Coal Conference "Colombian Coal Conference 2012" at the Convention Center of Combarranquilla - Country. The event was attended by renowned national and international experts, specializing in the coal market.
Every year, the event will feature a specialized academic program for the mining and energy sector in order to make a detailed analysis of the coal face of new markets, context of world coal royalties, environmental policies and the demand for coal in the electricity sector in Europe and Asia, among other topics of interest to industry.
The XV version of Colombian Coal Conference will take place on 7th and 8th of February 2013, with the IV Coal Golf Tournament as an opening activity on February 6th, in the Barranquilla Country Club field.
